The production method of sodium silicate is divided into two methods: a dry method (solid phase method) and a wet method (liquid phase method).
1. Dry production
The quartz sand and the soda ash are mixed in a certain ratio and then heated to about 1400 ° C in a reverberatory furnace to form molten sodium silicate;
2. Wet production
Using quartzite powder and caustic soda as raw materials, the reaction is carried out in a high-pressure steamer under steam of 0.6-1.0 MPa to directly form liquid water glass. Microsilica can produce sodium silicate with a modulus of 4 instead of quartz.
